Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha appeared together for the first time in Dibakar Banerjee's Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and after a hiatus of eight years, they are all set to reunite for Hansal Mehta’s social comedy Turram Khan, which will be bankrolled by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
The director announced the film on Twitter and shared how he is excited to finally helm a comedy film. Set in a small village of Uttar Pradesh, the film will reportedly begin filming by the end of this year.

Talking about his upcoming project, Hansal told a leading daily, "I am delighted to be collaborating with Luv on this comedy. It is a new chapter in my filmography with Raj (Rajkummar), whose success I see as a vindication of my belief in him. It is also wonderful to be working with Nushrat, whose work I’ve followed and liked immensely in the past. This is my first out-and-out comedy and it is like making my debut all over again."
Rajkummar, as well, spoke about his relationship with the filmmaker and said, "Turram Khan is a comedy that the audience will take back home. Hansal sir has played an instrumental role in my career. He has created some interesting and memorable characters for me, and I trust him blindly. Also, I have known Nushrat since our days of attending auditions and screen tests. So, I am sure that this is going to be a fun collaboration."
Last but not the least, Nushrat said that she is delighted to collaborate with Rajkummar and Hansal, who also made films including Shahid, Aligarh and CityLights. The actress is looking forward to play an earthy character from UP in the film.
