Every girl has the dream of seeing the man of her dreams kneel down, profess his love to her, put a ring on it and seal it with a kiss. However, although most of us dream of this fairytale proposal what we get in real life is more often pretty far from our ideal scenario. Since most of the marriages in India are arranged marriages this scenario doesn’t come to fruition, and some of the lucky ones who do get married to the love of their lives, this western concept of proposals just doesn’t cut with our Indian men. Well, for all those who were not proposed in the said filmy manner, don’t sulk because actor Sonam Kapoor also had a marriage proposal similar to ours. Apparently, her husband Anand Ahuja proposed marriage without a ring!
Sonam might have a jaw-droppingly gorgeous engagement ring but the actress said yes to her husband without the sparkly stone. During a recent interview with the web chat show Feet Up With The Stars with Anaita Shroff Adajania, Sonam revealed that there was no engagement ring involved when Anand proposed to her. In an Instagram post shared by Sonam captioned as, “Watch Anaita ask me some seriously squirm-worthy questions, uncut and uncensored on Feet Up with the Stars,” Sonam reveals Anand’s proposal. When asked by Anaita, “Did he propose?”, Sonam replied, “Without a ring.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam will be next seen in the screen adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s book The Ziya Factor opposite Dulquer Salmaan. Dulquer is playing the role of an Indian cricket captain whereas Sonam will be essaying the role of a client servicing executive of a leading media agency. Sanjay Kapoor, Sikander Kher and Angad Bedi also stars in the film. She also has Shelly Chopra Dhar’s EK Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with Rajkummar Rao, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in her kitty.
