I’m not commitment phobic: Vicky Kaushal is unlike his Manmarziyaan character in real life

The year 2018 will be remembered for Vicky Kaushal. The man did a terrific supporting act in both Raazi opposite Alia Bhatt and in Sanju alongside Ranbir Kapoor. While Alia and Ranbir might have been the lead actors of the film but it was Vicky who silently walked away with a lot of accolades for his act in the film. In fact, Vicky’s character Kamli in Sanju was what appealed to everyone in the film. Now, the actor is back with Anurag Kashyap’s Manmaziyaan in which he shares screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan, and once again he has managed to impress one and all with his stellar performance and class act.

The film is yet to release but Anurag hosted a special screening of the film and everyone has been raving about Vicky’s portrayal of the carefree and commitment-phobic young man Vicky Sandhu. In an interview given to a leading daily, the actor was asked whether he is also commitment phobic like his character in the film in real life too. However, Vicky denied it and said, “Obviously, there have been times in our lives when we needed to take a call but might not be in a position to do so. You always have those tricky situations when there’s friction in relationships. However, I’m not commitment phobic. If it’s the right time and scenario, you can take the plunge.”

He further added, “But if it’s too early, I don’t believe in giving hopes to somebody. You can’t keep anybody in a bubble, you have to be upfront about it. That doesn’t mean I have been running away from it or getting the jitters. The thought of being in a permanent relationship scares my character in the film. I’m unlike him.”

Reportedly, the actor is in a relationship with television host and actress Harleen Sethi. As per the rumours, the two were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Anand Tiwari and they instantly hit it off. The two have been dating for a few months now and are taking things slow.

Manmarziyaan is produced by Aanand L Rai and releases on September 14. On the work front, Vicky will be next seen in the film Uri opposite Yami Gautam.
