Abhishek Bachchan is all set to appear on screen after a hiatus of two years with Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan and is excited about it. The 42-year-old actor, however, certainly doesn’t regret taking a sabbatical because, in his words, it helped him to reevaluate himself plan his journey ahead in the industry.
During an interview with a leading daily, Abhishek was compared to his father, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, as he was asked whether he decided to reinvent himself as an artiste with reference to the 75-year-old actor’s second innings. But it isn’t so, Abhishek said, adding that his path can never be similar to that of his father.

Big B, in his career spanning over four decades, has witnessed stardom to another level but has also endured the wrath of failures. He didn’t stop, though, and relentlessly entertained fans by resurrecting his career even after his films didn’t do well during a certain period. Abhishek, however, admitted that his journey is completely different.
“My career and its path is nothing like my father's and it never will be. Don't even think about it. For once, I thought selfishly and decided to do things my way. It's not like 'if someone could do this, so can I'. It was about how I wanted things. Your circumstances are completely different from anyone else's. I was very sure that Manmarziyaan was the right decision for me in that direction. The validation was what I felt when I stepped on to the set and the response to the trailer,” Abhishek told the daily.
Abhishek is the son of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. He is married to actress Aishwarya Rai and they parent a daughter, Aaradhya.
Manmarziyaan, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, is scheduled to release on September 14.
