The Mumbai Police on Saturday rebuked actor Uday Chopra for his remarks on legalizing marijuana in the country. Uday had created a stir on Twitter when in a series of tweets he spoke about the supposed ‘medicinal values’ and ‘Indian culture’ associated with the banned substance leaving many on the micro-blogging site debating about the issue.
The official account of Mumbai Police did not let the matter die down but stepped into the matter telling the actor in kind but firm words that marijuana is still illegal in India and a punishable offense. Their reply made a lot of netizens remember Abhishek Bachchan’s character ACP Jai Dixit from the Dhoom series that often rebukes and stops Uday’s character in the film from his idiocy and nonsensical antics.
