Considering the story of Sui Dhaaga: Made In India revolving around the struggle of Indian artisans, stars Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma saluted India’s entrepreneurs and skilled workforce, especially homegrown artisans, craftspeople and weavers who make Indians proud globally.
Skill India, a wing under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) aims to standardize vocational training both new-age and traditional skills with the help of latest infrastructure. The Sui Dhaaga: Made In India stars have been roped in to promote and endorse the Skill India Mission as the film sheds light on the issue related to the programme.

The Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan spoke about the collaboration and complemented the stars of the film by saying it feels good to see young actors considering scripts that bring out such significant social issues. “India is one of the youngest countries in the world; and it is a matter of great pride for us to see such dedicated and passionate skilled youth with entrepreneurial skills in our country who are bringing name and fame to the nation with their work”, he added.
Varun and Anushka reacted to this campaign and went on to say that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and foresight will enable to develop the skills and provide financial stability to local craftsmen and artisans. “We are proud to be promoting this campaign that we feel extremely close to like our movie Sui Dhaaga that celebrates self-reliance and entrepreneurship’’, said Varun aka Mauji. Adding to his statement, Anushka who plays Mauji’s wife Mamta said “While making Sui Dhaaga, we came across so many stories of talented, skilled crafts people and artisans who don’t get a fair chance to showcase their talents," shared the actors.
