Rajkummar Rao has lashed out at a leading daily for publishing an article on him that he dismissed as a “fake story” in a fell tweet on Wednesday. The report stated that Rajkummar’s girlfriend Patralekhaa opted out of Panga, co-starring Kangana Ranaut, because of his “warning”. Rajkummar, according to the report in the daily, apparently told Patralekhaa that Kangana will occupy her share of the spotlight that will affect the former’s screen presence and thus, she shouldn’t sign up for Panga.
But Rajkummar did nothing of this sort as he instructed the daily, in his tweet, to conduct “basic research before putting out such FAKE stories”. Rajkummar and Patralekhaa respect Kangana “immensely” and he certainly wouldn’t even dream of doing what has been claimed in the report.

Patralekhaa followed suit as she posted a tweet in which she said that she respects Panga director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and hopes to work with her – but she was never approached for the film, to begin with.

Kangana stars as the protagonist in Panga while the film spans across her journey from her teenage to marriage. She loves kabaddi and her passion for the sport is what forms the crux of Panga’s plot.
Patralekhaa made her debut in Bollywood with CityLights in 2014 and subsequently starred in the films Love Games and Nanu Ki Jaanu.
Rajkummar, in fact, is currently working with Kangana on Mental Hai Kya and will soon begin work on Anurag Basu’s Imli with her as well.
