Shahid Kapoor’s new film Batti Gul Meter Chalu released on September 21 and the actor is looking forward to a special month as he welcomed his second child, son Zain, with wife Mira Rajput earlier this month. He also completed 15 years in the industry recently and in a media interaction, spoke about what keeps him motivated to do his job and why he doesn’t call himself a greedy actor but instead a passionate one.
“Greedy is a very negative word, I am very driven, motivated and passionate for my craft but I am not greedy. I feel people who are greedy are very self-oriented and not a team player," Shahid said. He was also asked about being an actor who tries to do films from all the genres and whether it is a conscious effort. To this Shahid replied, “My fundamental understanding of cinema is that you tell a different story every time, and you play a different person every time and that must reflect in your craft."

“I think that’s the most exciting part as a performer and deep down as a viewer as well, how good we are at it I think we are still learning, I am still learning and as a fraternity we are getting better at it slowly because today there is a lot more acceptance and a lot of more openness in seeing something new. It is difficult to keep doing something new all the time because it is all a gut call but that is what films are all about," Shahid added.
Apart from Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shahid will be seen in the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy and Raja Krishna Menon’s film on boxer Dingko Singh.
