Ek Villain Sequel on cards; Mohit Suri picks Arjun Kapoor over Sidharth Malhotra?

Mohit Suri directed 2014 film Ek Villain, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, was a box office success, thanks to its soul-stirring music and fresh cast. This propelled producer Ekta Kapoor to work on the film's sequel. In fact, it was heard that Ekta had already asked her team of writers to start thinking of a new script for Ek Villain 2.

Now if in a report in an entertainment website is to be believed, the project is underway and Mohit will once again helm the film. Moreover, he will apparently reunite with his Half Girlfriend actor Arjun Kapoor, who is said to play the lead in the sequel. The report further suggested that Arjun decided to come on board after he was impressed with how Mohit plans to take the franchise forward. No points for guessing that the film will once again be backed by Ekta's Balaji Telefilms.

On a related note, our cameras recently spotted Arjun visiting Ekta's house. Now with the latest buzz, it would not be wrong to assume that they met to talk about the project. Expectations high already?

Meanwhile, Ek Villain Sequel is slated to go on floors next year and after the final script is locked, other lead actors will be cast.

On the work front, Arjun will next be seen in Vipul Shah's Namaste England, also starring Parineeti Chopra.
