Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are coming together for the first time in Vijay Krishna Acharya fantasy drama Thugs Of Hindostan, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. After teasing the audience with motion posters of the lead characters and the logo teaser, the makers have finally unveiled the much-anticipated trailer of the film today, September 27 on the occasion of Yash Chopra’s 86th birth anniversary. And to say the least, it will certainly leave you spellbound.
The trailer is set in 1795 in British India and begins with how The East India Company, which arrived in Indian for trade, eventually went on to rule the nation. But Amitabh's Khudabaksh (called Azaad by his followers) is determined to liberate his country from the rule by battling the Englishmen with his trusted lieutenant Zafira, played by Fatima. The 3 minute and 38 seconds long trailer then introduces Aamir’s character Firangi, who is hired by Britisher John Clive to fight the Hindustani Thugs.
As the trailer progresses, Firangi finds it hard to turn on his own countrymen. But is he really interested in the Azaadi or is it just his tactic to betray Khudabaksh's army by siding with him, is still left to be seen. Apart from the Aamir, Amitabh and Fatima, Katrina impresses as well in her stunning avatar of a performer, Suraiyya.
