The Supreme Court of India on the afternoon of September 27 pronounced its verdict on the 1994 Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi title dispute and stated that it has decided to not refer the question that "a mosque as a place of prayer is a crucial part of Islam" to a larger Constitution bench. But ahead of the decision, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was asked about it at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Thugs of Hindostan and he refused to comment on it.
Insisting on how he will not speak on anything controversial, Aamir said, "My film is releasing...if I say something, my film will get stopped. Let my film release then I will speak." Well, his statement is enough to suggest that the celebs in this country are also powerless at the hands of certain vigilante groups and their thoughts.
On a related note, let's not forget the flak that Aamir and his wife Kiran Rao had faced in 2016, owing to their comment on intolerance ahead of their film, Dangal.
Meanwhile, coming back to Thugs of Hindostan, the fantasy period drama also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif, is one of the most-anticipated films of this year. The recently released trailer has received love and appreciation from all corners. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is slated to hit the theatres this Diwali on November 8.
