Mohit Suri's romantic action-drama Ek Villain (2014), starring Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead, was appreciated by the masses and proved to be a box-office success. This, apparently, made producer Ekta Kapoor to kick off work on the film's sequel. Additionally, speculations were rife that Sidharth will be replaced by Arjun Kapoor in Ek Villain 2.
However, if a report by a leading news agency is to be believed, Sidharth will retain his role as the film's lead while Arjun's name is being considered for the role of an antagonist. "The producers have approached both of the actors - Sidharth for the role of the protagonist and Arjun for the negative role... Talks are on and they have not signed the contract as yet," a source revealed to the news agency.

If everything goes well, Ek Villain 2 might turn out to be Arjun's and Sidharth's first film together. Moreover, it would be interesting to see Arjun step into the shoes of Riteish Deshmukh, who played the villain in the first part. With no official confirmation yet, we will have to wait how things turn out eventually.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth is currently shooting for Jabariya Jodi in Lucknow alongside Parineeti Chopra. Arjun, on the other hand, has an eclectic mix of films ahead with Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, India's Most Wanted and Panipat in the pipeline, He will next be seen in Vipul Shah's Namaste England.
