Krishna Raj Kapoor, wife of legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor, breathed her last today on October 1 at 5 am. She was 87 and passed away due to cardiac arrest, as confirmed by her family members. Born on December 30, 1930, she married Raj Kapoor in 1946 and is survived by five children - Randhir Kapoor, Ritu Kapoor Nanda, Rishi Kapoor, Rima Kapoor Jain and Rajiv Kapoor.

Although she has left an irrevocable void in the Bollywood film industry, it would not be wrong to say that Krishna Raj Kapoor was known to live her life to the fullest. She often spent time with her grandchildren, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Armaan Jain, Nikhil Nanda, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Natasha Nanda and Aadar Jain, apart from taking over the reins of the family post Raj Kapoor's demise in 1988.
