Soha Ali Khan Birthday Special: Lesser known facts about the actress that make her a class act

Actress Soha Ali Khan is celebrating her 40th birthday today. Soha was born on October 4, 1978. She is the youngest daughter of actress Sharmila Tagore and late Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who was the 9th Nawab of Pataudi. She is the younger sister of Saif Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan. Soha has acted in many films such as Rang De Basanti, Khoya Khoya Chand, Ahista Ahista, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns etc.

On her birthday today here are some lesser known facts about the pretty, petite actress that make her a class act.

Soha is highly educated

Soha was exceptionally good in studies and is probably one of the most highly educated actresses in Bollywood. Soha attended The British School in New Delhi and studied modern history at Balliol College, Oxford. She has also earned a Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Worked in a Bank before the acting bug bit her

After finishing her studies Soha worked in a bank. She worked in Ford Foundation and Citibank before taking a plunge into acting.

Acting Debut in Bengali film

Soha made her Bollywood acting debut opposite Shahid Kapoor in Dil Maange More in 2004. However, her first film was a Bengali film called Iti Srikanta which also released in 2004. She has also acted in another Bengali film titled Antar Mahal that released in 2005.

Married to Kunal Kemmu

Soha is married to actor Kunal Kemmu. The couple was in a live-in relationship for many years before they got hitched. Kunal is five years younger than Soha.

Daughter Inaaya

Soha married her longtime boyfriend Kunal Kemmu in a private ceremony on January 25, 2015. The two are proud parents to an adorable baby girl named Inaaya Naumi Kemmu who celebrated her first birthday on September 29, 2018.

Published Author

Soha is a published author. She has written a book which is a collection of humorous anecdotes about her life as a royal princess. The book has been aptly titled The Perils of Being Moderately Famous. Her book has been shortlisted for the Atta Galatta- Bangalore Literature Fest Book Prize 2018 in the Popular Choice category.

Stint on the small screen

Soha had anchored the game show Godrej Khelo Jeeto Jiyo which aired on Star Plus. She has also hosted Spell Bee-India Spells on Discovery Channel. Soha also did What Not To Wear with designer Aki Narula for TLC.
