After allegations of "misbehaviour and/or harassment" by Tanushree Dutta, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has now refuted her claims of him asking her to remove her clothes and dance during the shooting of a song on the sets of the 2005 film Chocolate. As revealed by Tanushree recently, Vivek has slapped a legal notice on her to initiate defamation action against her.
In a public statement, Agnihotri's lawyer Nidhish Mehrotra has said that Tanushree's allegations against the filmmaker "have been borne with an intent to attract publicity and wreak personal vendetta", further terming them as "absolutely false, frivolous and vexatious."
He further stated that news agencies have promoted sensational journalism with their treatment of the controversy. Hence, he requested all media, electronic channels and social media handles to refrain from reporting on his client, Vivek Agnihotri, without proper evidence and "failing which, we shall be forced to take necessary legal action," he said.
For the unversed, the actress created a huge stir recently by accusing Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss and alleged that the actor had misbehaved with her on the sets of the film. Vivek's name came up during the resurgence of the controversy when Tanushree accused him of behaving inappropriately with her.
However, despite the legal notice, Tanushree has not backed off from her stance and said in a statement that Nana's and Vivek Agnihotr'is teams are on a smear campaign against her by "constructing outright lies and misinformation on social media platforms and other public platforms."
Well, we wonder how this legal action against her turns out to be.
