MNS files defamation case against Tanushree Dutta for comments on Raj Thackeray

Tanushree Dutta recently opened up a Pandora's box by accusing Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss. She also leveled charges against Raj Thackeray’s MNS party workers for attacking her and her car, the video of which became viral as well. Furthermore, in a recent media interaction, Tanushree revealed that MNS party has once again threatened her with a violent attack, apart from claiming that the party has an ideology like the Al-Qaeda or ISIS.

However, MNS member Ameya Khopkar asserted that Tanushree's allegations against the party are baseless. And now in a recent development, the party workers in Bheed district, Maharashtra, have filed a complaint against the actress for defaming MNS and its chief, Raj Thackeray. The case has been registered by MNS district unit president Sumant Dhas, as confirmed by a police officer to a leading news agency.

"We have registered a non-cognisable offence against Dutta under Section 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the complaint. We have also asked the complainant to approach court," the officer pointed out.

Earlier too, the political party had threatened the Bigg Boss 12 crew located in Lonavala to stop the show's telecast if Tanushree enters the house and claimed that she is creating controversy because she plans to enter the reality TV show.

On the other hand, Tanushree has also received legal notices from Nana Patekar and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri.
