Harassment anywhere and in any form is wrong: Ranveer and Deepika lend support to Tanushree

Tanushree Dutta who opened about the sexual harassment she encountered at the hands of Nana Patekar on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss recently has been gaining support from a lot of celebrities especially the younger superstars. Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna, Richa Chadha, Freida Pinto have all come in support of the actress. Now Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have spoken up about the ongoing row that has shaken Bollywood to its core.

Ranveer and Deepika were at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit where Ranveer spoke about the issue. He said, “Harassment anywhere and in any form is wrong. It takes a lot of courage to come out and speak about harassment, but if it has actually happened. It is wrong and I condemn it.”

On the other hand, Deepika said that the #MeToo movement that took Hollywood by storm last year is not about gender, but about right vs wrong.

Tanushree’s allegations against Nana have made Bollywood divide itself in the middle. Her story has been corroborated by senior journalist Janice Sequeira and assistant director Shyni Shetty who were present on the sets of the film Horn OK Pleasss.
