Arjun, Parineeti hit out at Phantom Films after sexual harassment charges against Vikas Bahl

Tanushree Dutta recently sent shock waves across the country after she accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Post that, several women from different walks of life mustered up courage to name and shame their sexual predators, which included several big names like Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Utsav Chakraborty and Kailash Kher, apart from others.

Now Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, who are busy promoting Vipul Shah’s Namaste England, rendered their support to the raging Me Too movement in India and shared that power shouldn't be taken for granted. Talking on the same, Arjun said, “When you take the power for granted, when you take this profession for granted, when you take the opposite sex for granted, you feel they will be suppressed and they will keep quiet," further stating, "I think Phantom will always be an example for all those people who feel they can get away because you can't get away.”

For the unversed, charges of sexual misconduct on Vikas Bahl by a former woman employee led to the dissolution of Phantom Films, which was run by Vikas along with partners Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikramaditya Motwane. Mentioning how it is important to create a protective work environment, Arjun quipped, "How can a company not have an HR is beyond comprehension when you are making films of worth hundreds of crores is shocking," adding, "I think somewhere the company doesn't exist anymore is because this has been going on behind the scenes for so long."

On the other hand, Parineeti expressed her disgust about such incidencts that have come forth and urged every single woman to come out in the open and name those bastards because how can they have a career, or a life, after harassing women. She concluded by saying that she just couldn't believe that there are so many creative women who have been doing fulfilling their professional commitments with a smile on their faces despite knowing what the reality is.

Well, looks like the time is up for these sexual offenders.
