Akshay Kumar’s PadMan after making fans across the nation is going international. After premiering in Russia, Ivory Coast, Iraq, United States, and Canada, the film is all set to now premiere in Japan. Akshay shared the happy news that the film will be screened at the 31st edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival this year. The film is inspired from the real life of Arunachalam Muruganantham and based on the short story written by Twinkle Khanna in her bestselling novel The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad.
Akshay shared the Japanese poster of the film on his Instagram profile and wrote, “Here's the Japanese poster of PadMan! Excited for the film to be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival!" The Tokyo International Film Festival is a nine-day festival which will be organized at the Roppongi Hills Theater in Minato City, Tokyo.

PadMan was directed by R Balki and also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in pivotal roles. PadMan is a path-breaking film that talks about the struggle of a man who made a low-cost machine to make sanitary pads to provide basic hygiene to women during their menstruation. The film earned lots of accolades in India for beautifully portraying such a sensitive but taboo issue on screen.
