It would not be wrong to say that India's Me Too movement is currently in full force, thanks to Tanushree Dutta's allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar. Taking a cue from her, several women mustered up courage to speak up against their sexual predators and names including Alok Nath, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, Kailash Kher and others, have come forth. Now joining is Pyaar Ka Punchnama director Luv Ranjan, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by an unnamed actress.
Sharing a horrific ordeal, the actress told a leading daily that Luv asked her to strip down to her bra and panties while auditioning for his film Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2010. She further recalled the incident to reveal that Luv told her that was a kissing scene and bikini scene in the movie. Since she was comfortable with the mentioned scenes, she went ahead for the look test where a female stylist gave her a bikini. However, "Luv asked me to strip down to my bra and panties. He said he wanted to see my body so he could check if I needed to lose weight. My heart was pounding and I rushed out saying I had to leave, and wasn't comfortable with it," she added.
Later, when she was finalised for the role, she pointed out that she wanted to see the script, to which Luv said, "If a script decided the fate of a film, then even Amitabh [Bachchan] would have never given a flop. What will you understand from a script? I will make you look hot, you will have songs, I'll make you a star."
Meanwhile, her trouble did not end there as Luv allegedly asked her if she was a virgin apart from questioning if she used condoms or masturbated. She also mentioned how he kept asking her not to misunderstand him by messaging her incessantly, but never apologising for his act. The actress later got married and moved abroad but claims to have finally opened up about the incident as she does not want other girls to go through that, especially during their first look tests.
