India's #MeToo movement is finally upon us with several allegations of sexual harassment and abuse emerging against well-known men of the Bollywood film industry. So far, Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Sajid Khan among others, have been accused of misconduct. Now in wake of women coming out against their predators, actress Chitrangda Singh recalled her horrific experience at the hands of director Kushan Nandy on the sets of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, which had Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead.
Speaking to a leading daily, the actress revealed how she was asked to shoot an intimate scene with Nawazuddin and while it was being shot, Kushan kept on insisting that it needed more passion and subsequently, more takes. She claimed that when she tried to reason with him, he said, "Dono taraf pair karke ragdo," further adding that, "He snapped at me, saying, 'Upar karo and go astride'. Eventually, he got on top of Nawaz to explain what he wanted me to do."
Chitrangda also pointed out that when she refused to do the scene his way, he flung the script at her which almost hit her, before storming out of the actress' vanity van. For the unversed, Chitrangda walked out of the film in 2016 as she wasn't comfortable with doing the scenes and was later replaced by Bidita Bag.
Meanwhile, she also alleged that Nawazuddin kept mum during the entire incident and during the film's promotions, he mentioned that she had refused to kiss him because he has a dark complexion.
