The status of the biopic on celebrated actor-singer Kishore Kumar is unperceived so far while reports surrounding its making are being circulated by several quarters of the press. Filmmaker Anurag Basu is expected to make the Kishore Kumar biopic with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role and in the meantime, Ayushmann Khurrana has expressed interest in starring in the film, a leading daily reports.
Ayushmann, in fact, is also a singer and an actor like Kumar. Apart from starring in films including Vicky Donor, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Bareilly Ki Barfi, Ayushmann has also provided vocals to songs such as Paani Da Rang, Nazm Nazm and Mitti Di Khushboo. While speaking to the daily, Ayushmann said that he is an ardent fan of Kumar and would love to portray his role. Anurag, are you listening?

“By default, I have been singing in every movie. I rendered two songs in AndhaDhun and one in Badhaai Ho. But I would love to play a singer-actor. In fact, I want to do the Kishore Kumar biopic as I am a huge fan of his. In between, there were talks about filmmaker Anurag Basu making a movie on him, I think he should make it with me,” Ayushmann told the daily.
The Kishore Kumar biopic is yet to go on floors because of several permissions that the makers are supposed to get, pre-imposed conditions by the singer’s son Amit Kumar and also – Ranbir is in the midst of an arduous schedule with Brahmastra, Shamshera and Luv Ranjan’s untitled film with Ajay Devgn.

Nevertheless, Ayushmann is sorted at the moment since his recent release AndhaDhun has impressed audiences and critics. His new film Badhaai Ho will hit screens on October 18.
