Curiosity over Ajay Devgn’s ambitious project Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, has refused to die down ever since its announcement. Helmed by Om Raut, the film is based on the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670. What's more, the makers pulled off a casting coup of sorts by roping in Ajay's Omkara co-star Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist. Now adding to the excitement, we now hear that Salman Khan has also been approached for the film.
If a report in a leading daily is to be believed, the Dabangg actor will play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Taanaji. It is also learnt that the role is likely to be a guest appearance as the movie mainly traces the journey of Subedar Taanaji Malusare, a military leader in the army of Shivaji.
Well, if the casting falls into place, Ajay will play the warrior in Salman's army as they battle it out with Saif, who portrays the role of Udaybhan Rathod in Taanaji, a Rajput officer appointed by Jai Singh, chief of the Mughal army under Aurangzeb to take care of the fort. For now, we await an official confirmation from either Ajay or Salman.
Produced by T-series honcho Bhushan Kumar, Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior is slated to hit the theaters on November 22, 2019.
