Concluding weeks of speculation, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone finally confirmed the news of their wedding on Sunday. The couple shared pictures of their wedding invite on social media and informed fans and followers that they are getting married on November 14 and 15. Save the date, guys!
Rumours of Ranveer’s and Deepika’s wedding have been doing the rounds since the beginning of 2018 while the couple preferred to refrain from answering to the press. In fact, Deepika and Ranveer both have been consistently dodging questions about their wedding ever since the inception of reports as such. Nevertheless, we are glad that the news is official now and thus, here’s a timeline of their romance that you might consider reading in order to make the wait impossible for the big day.

Ranveer met Deepika for the first time at an event abroad in 2012 and “almost went flat”, as admitted by him during the promotions of their film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, as reported by a leading magazine. In fact, Ram-Leela – their first film together – began filming in 2012 itself and several quarters of the press are of the opinion that Ranveer fell for Deepika while shooting the film.
In an interview to a tabloid as well, Ranveer had confessed the fact, “I can't stop people from jumping to conclusions. We grew close on a personal level during the filming of Ram Leela and I look forward to working with her in Bajirao Mastani,” Ranveer had said, as reported by the magazine.

Ranveer has also made headlines often for visiting Deepika on the sets of her films – Finding Fanny, in Goa and also while she was filming her Hollywood debut xXx: The Return of Xander Cage in Toronto in 2016 around Valentine’s Day.
However, Deepika and Ranveer never acknowledged their relationship in the public domain. Not that it’s required though since their online and offline PDA is just about enough for us to obsess over them. Both are spotted together at almost every possible place – parties, soirees, award functions, film screenings, airports and other events – and are mostly photographed hand-in-hand.
At Farah Khan’s party for that matter in 2014:

Or at the screening of Padmaavat for that matter:

Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat were the films that Deepika and Ranveer co-starred in after Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. Padmaavat, in fact, had a controversial release and Deepika, cast as Rani Padmini in the film, received death threats as well. Ranveer, rather protective of Deepika, expressed his anger during an interview about the intimidation exerted by fringe groups and said, “I was filled with rage. There’s no doubt about that. I had a very strong urge to act out, to speak out, but I was given strict instructions not to. And I had to respect that, because I was not at the forefront of this fight.”
Ranveer’s and Deepika’s love story, thus, is for the keeps because the actor has time and again proved to be a perfect partner and with the news of their wedding, we certainly can’t keep calm, and we are sure you can’t as well.
