From filmmakers to her fans, everyone sees Chitrangda portraying a working woman in the corporate world in films. The actress who is awaiting the release of her next Baazaar believes that such roles come to her organically.
“I don’t know why I always get offered corporate kind of roles. I have always played a woman, who is overconfident, powerful, strong and seductress. Till date, I didn’t understand that Geeta from Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is not a powerful woman unlike people think she is. In the sense, she is very important to the screenplay maybe this is the reason about people’s perception. She was rather weak, vulnerable in love, not the flag bearer types and even in the end she follows her man. She was a compassionate but foolish woman who felt too deeply. I have always told this to Sudhir Mishra.”

Talking about her film Inkaar, she revealed that director Sudhir allowed her to write the climax of the film from where she developed an interest in film writing.
“Doing such roles wasn’t a conscious decision at all. I only end up choosing the best out of all and for some reasons I only get offered such roles. Inkaar also just happened to me, I was never looking for it. We wanted to show some more but Arjun didn’t like the idea. The original script was something else. Sudhir allowed me to even write one scene of it. He really liked it and told me that I should write stories. I have done films which are ahead of its time. If Hazaaron… would have come out today, it would have done well. Out of all the roles I have done so far, I could relate to Geeta from Hazaaron… that is probably a lot like me.”
