Ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to launch his niece Sharmin Segal with a dream debut under his home banner. Sharmin will be seen in the film titled Malaal which will be directed by Mangesh Hadawale. Mangesh’s last film was the unreleased Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Dekh Circus Dekh. Knowing Bhansali, the film will be made on a lavish scale and while Mangesh’s last film was made on a shoestring budget, this time around he will have considerable funds at his disposal.
Reportedly, Bhansali wants to spare no expense in giving the film his trademark with opulent sets and magnificence. A source from the film told a leading daily, “Malaal will have all the epic grandeur typical of an SLB film. Sanjay has agreed to produce his niece’s debut film because he sees her potential, not because she is his niece. And he has cast Javed Jaffrey’s son Mizaan opposite Sharmin. The two are already being hailed as a remarkably talented pair, one that’s on par with Ranbir and Sonam, whom Bhansali introduced 11 years ago in Saawariya. Mizaan and Sharmin are already being sought out by other producers who want to cast them.”

Saawariya was the last film in which Bhansali launched newcomers. The film starred Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor but failed to light up the box office. However, now he is all set to introduce quite a few actors and actresses in his films. Other than Sharmin, Bhansali is also launching Poonam Dhillon and Ashok Thakeria’s son Anmol and Padmini Kolhapure’s son Priyank Sharma.
