Tanushree Dutta and Rakhi Sawant have been having a war of words lately. After Tanushree accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss, the reality TV star Rakhi came in Nana’s defence and said that Tanushree’s claims are false and she is doing this for publicity. Rakhi even went on to say that Tanushree is a drug addict and used to take drugs. In turn, Tanushree went on to file a defamation case of Rs 10 crores against Rakhi.
However, Rakhi was not perturbed and shared a series of videos on social media where she alleged that Tanushree raped her on several occasions and she took her to rave parties and made her snort drugs. She even claimed to be best friends with the actress at once upon a time. Rakhi even went on to say Tanushree is a man. Rakhi’s videos went viral and people had a lot of fun at her expense. However, now Tanushree has issued a befitting reply to Rakhi on the smear campaign she has been propagating against her.

In her statement, she said, “For those uninitiated in the art of guerrilla war tactics, smear campaigns never run fair or square. So just to set the record straight, I'm not a drug addict, I don't smoke or drink and I’m most definitely not a lesbian. In fact, I'm too much of a woman for this patriarchal and misogynistic cesspool to handle. Hence the perverted character assassination attempts to shut me up!! It's clearly not working. Let’s not make a joke of such a serious movement that can potentially bring positive changes of mindset in our society.”

Tanushree’s allegations proved to be an awakening for several women who gathered strength from the actress and came out with their own #MeToo allegations against their perpetrators. Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, Subhash Ghai, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, and several others have been named, shamed and blamed as sexual offenders.
