Deepika Padukone is about to get married to longtime boyfriend Ranveer Singh on November 14 and 15. The two have shared screen space and their chemistry onscreen and off-screen is crackling and has given three hit films. However, if you think Deepika’s favourite co-star is her soon-to-be-husband then you’re much farther away than the truth. In a recent interview where she appeared with her father badminton legend Prakash Padukone, she revealed that her favourite co-star is none other than Irrfan.
She said in the interview, “Irrfan is my favourite co-star. I think Piku wouldn't have been as special for me if he wasn't a part of that film. I think somewhere; we pushed each other and brought out the best in each other.” Deepika and Irfan starred together in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku along with Amitabh Bachchan and was all set to collaborate once again in a gangster drama produced by Vishal Bharadwaj.

The film was a screen adaptation of author-reporter S Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai but got indefinitely delayed after Irrfan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. The ace actor has been undergoing treatment for the same.
Deepika who has shared screen space with Amitabh in a few films and played his daughter also spoke about her feelings for the veteran actor and said that she used to be in awe of him. She said, “I felt the same when I first met Shah Rukh Khan. But for me, when the camera starts to roll, all of that ceases to exist.” Deepika made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om and followed it up with starring opposite him in Chennai Express and Happy New Year.
