It is not unknown that Kangana Ranaut decided to step into the director's shoes to finish the patchwork and reshoot certain portions of her ambitious project Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, after film’s main helmer Krish decided to move on to direct the NTR biopic. Although she insisted on forgoing the credit in the teaser, we now hear that Kangana's dream of turning a director has been realized sooner than expected as the actress will share the directorial credit of the film with Krish.
As per a report in a leading daily, producer Kamal Jain decided to acknowledge Kangana's efforts and discussed the same with Zee Studios' honchos on Monday. The daily quoted a source as saying, "Kangana helmed the 45-day schedule that included the re-shoot of several key parts of the drama. Not just that, after she returned from the US earlier this week, she was thoroughly involved in the editing process along with Rameshwar Bhagat. She is overseeing the VFX work, the music and the final cut as well, all of which are the director's responsibilities." Apparently, Kangana also cut short the first schedule of Panga to look into the post-production of Manikarnika.
Furthermore, Kamal confirmed the recent development and stated, "The film is finally looking exactly the way we had envisioned it. Kangana is a perfectionist who headlined every department. We are happy with what she has done and it would be unfair to not give her credit where it's due." When he was asked if giving Kangana credit has been discussed with Krish, he concluded by saying, "We are a team. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with this.'
Manikarnika will be releasing on January 25, 2019.
