After Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleasss, Rakhi Sawant came out in the veteran actor's defence and claimed that Tanushree has ignited the #MeToo movement in order to gain publicity. Rakhi's statements led Tanushree to file a defamation case of Rs 10 crore against her for maligning her image.

Responding to Tanushree's case, Rakhi further alleged that Tanushree is homosexual and had raped her multiple times. And now in a recent development, the reality television star has taken legal action against Tanushree as well by filing a defamation suit of Rs 25 paise against her in the Dindoshi court in Mumbai.

For the unversed, both Rakhi and Tanushree have been having a war of words lately. After Rakhi claimed that the actress was her best friend at one point of time, Tanushree, in her statement, described Rakhi as an "uncouth, uneducated, dirty, downmarket, classless, characterless and perverted" woman, adding that she has only met her once so far and isn’t even remotely associated with her in any other manner.

Meanwhile, Tanushree’s allegations against her sexual perpetrators led several other women to come out against their offenders. So far, Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl, Subhash Ghai, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik among others, have been named and shamed in India's #MeToo movement.
