The controversy surrounding Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath caused a fallout between the director and his cousin, television czarina Ekta Kapoor – his former partner in the film while he addressed the matter during an interview with a leading daily. Kedarnath marks Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan’s debut in Bollywood and co-stars Sushant Singh Rajput.
Asked about his differences with Ekta, Abhishek said that his sole concentration has been on Kedarnath ever since he “parted ways” with her and hasn’t had the time to assess the consequence of his fallout with her so far.

“My film is my biggest priority right now. From the time Ekta and I parted ways on the film, I have surged far ahead with the project. I haven't had the time to look behind and assess what the collaterals have been for me. Once the film is out, I will take time out to go back and understand what the implications have been, if any, on my personal equations with people,” Abhishek told the daily.
Kedarnath was earlier being made in collaboration with Abhishek’s Guy In The Sky Pictures (GITS) and KriArj Entertainment, but after they parted ways, Ronnie Screwvala and his creative production house RSVP joined hands with the director.
