After several Bollywood personalities like Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Nana Patekar, Rajat Kapoor and others were accused of sexual harassment during the ongoing #MeToo movement, the latest name to come under the line of fire was none other than Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The Manto actor was accused by former Miss India and actress Niharika Singh, who termed Nawaz as a "sexually repressed Indian man".
However, soon after allegations were made, Nawaz's co-star from Netflix original Sacred Games, Kubbra Sait came out in support of him by claiming that one must not confuse a relationship gone sour with a #MeToo story. "A relationship gone sour, isn't #MeToo. Someone needs to recognise the toxic difference before we go picking sides," Kubbra wrote on Twitter.

Although she accepted that Niharika might have had her share of tough times in the industry but "categorising her once personal relationship as a #MeToo statement is incorrectly placed."

For those caught unaware, Niharika in her social media post, had revealed that she had developed a soft corner for Nawaz, finding him "real, after all the superficial 'filmy' interactions I'd had in the past years". Despite the two being in a relationship, she claimed to have distanced herself from him because of his frequent lies. Last year too, Niharika had called out Nawazuddin for "exploiting and disrespecting women" to sell his autobiography.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin is yet to respond to Niharika's allegations against him.
