Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who tied the knot on November 14 and 15 in private Konkani and Sindhi ceremonies in Italy finally returned to their city, Mumbai this morning. Right after the couple landed they made their way to Ranveer's Mumbai residence for Deepika's Griha Pravesh.
Soon after leaving from the airport, DeepVeer, as fans lovingly call them, reached Ranveer’s residence in Mumbai for the griha pravesh ceremony, a ceremony to welcome the newlywed bahu. Yes, special arrangements had been made to welcome the Bhavnani bahu and according to reports, all of Singh’s relatives were waiting at his home to welcome Deepika. For all those who don’t know, during griha pravesh, the bride is welcomed into the house by the mom-in-law, with an aarti. As per customs, the bride and in this case, Deepika Padukone will have to enter the house with her right foot first.

And before going inside, Ranveer and Deepika waved at the paparazzi waiting outside Ranveer's residence and it was only after posing for them that this couple went inside for the griha pravesh ceremony. Ranveer and Deepika colour coordinated with each other in traditional red and gold ensembles. Deepika chose to wear a beige suit with a red dupatta and husband Ranveer complemented her look in a beige kurta pajama paired up with a red Nehru jacket.
Deepika and Ranveer will now be hosting their reception ceremony on November 21 in Bangalore and on November 28 in Mumbai.
