Today is the best time to be an actor: Kareena on getting FILA 2018's Icon of Cinema Award

The eighth Forbes India Leadership Awards (FILA) 2018 was held today in Mumbai to celebrate excellence, innovation and transformational leadership in business. This year the awards span across nine categories with the nominees and winners representing diverse backgrounds. Kareena Kapoor Khan was also at the ceremony and she was conferred with FILA 2018's Icon of Cinema Award.

Kareena who made a comeback to Bollywood with the film Veere Di Wedding after taking a maternity break won the award. In the session that followed, she spoke about how Bollywood has changed in recent times. She also applauded the different content platforms available for an actor. She said, “Today is the best time to be an actor. It's all about content and there are so many platforms to tell stories.”

Talking about her Bollywood journey she said, “It's very important to constantly redefine yourselves, keep up with the content and for me, being a mother who works hard and comes home to her child.”

The prestigious FILA 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Wipro’s Azim Premji. This year’s jury for the awards was headed by Marico Chairman Harsh Mariwala. The other members of the jury were Sanjay Nayar of KKR India, McKinsey & Company’s Noshir Kaka, Ashu Suyash of Crisil, Saurabh Mukherjea, Founder, Marcellus Investment Managers, and Ronnie Screwvala of Upgrad.
