SRK and Salman in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film with Deepika? We hope this is true

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has apparently managed to do the unthinkable as the filmmaker has signed Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in his next film, a leading magazine reports, and citing industry sources. To begin with, we hope this is true because it’s been long since we witnessed the magic of SRK and Salman in a full-fledged film – so far, it has just been cameos – Tubelight, for example, and in the upcoming film Zero as well.

Sources told the magazine that SRK and Salman “reportedly agreed in principle” to star as the leading men in Bhansali’s next and the filmmaker is currently busy with the script. Salman and SRK are co-stars of the films Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Tumhaare Hain Sanam. As far as Bhansali’s film is concerned, no official confirmation has been made on this subject so far but if the report is anything to go by, it’s a period film.

Sources, in fact, also said that Bhansali’s project is a two-hero one-heroine film and the director has apparently “committed” to Deepika Padukone to cast her as the leading lady in it. All parties reportedly involved in this film have worked with Bhansali previously – SRK played Devdas while Salman was cast in Khamoshi: The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya. Deepika appeared in the principal roles in his films Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.

Deepika, in the meantime, is pretty much consumed by her personal life. She married Ranveer Singh in a strictly private ceremony in Italy on November 14 and is busy with the subsequent reception parties at the moment.

She will begin work on Meghna Gulzar’s film on acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal next year and by then, we hope to receive a confirmation on the aforementioned film.
