In collaboration with Facebook for #SocialForGood Live-Athon, Priyanka Chopra attended an event in Mumbai on November 27, where she spoke about several issues including social media trolls. The 36-year-old actress has often been subjected to merciless trolling on social media as she said that “hateful comments” affect those with a strong mentality as well.
“Hateful comments can affect even the strongest people. They affect me too. These trolls have the nastiest things to say, but they won't say it on the face. Trollers have their own life. If they do negative comment, why not focus on the positive comments,” Priyanka said.

In 2017, Priyanka was trolled for wearing a dress during her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi while she was also censured by folks for playing an FBI agent foiling the plot of 'Hindu terrorists' in a particular episode of her American television series Quantico. Social media users, in fact, also interfered in her personal life as she was condemned for dating Nick Jonas – the American singer is ten years younger than her.

Not that Priyanka maintained stoic silence after trolls condemned her because she posted cutting responses soon after her life was made miserable by folks as such. At the event, she shared a particular instance as Priyanka said, “I posted a picture with my dog Diana and I got comments like you are going nowhere just like that dog. You are not even Indian anymore. I was said I look like an overcooked tomato on my selfie.”
Priyanka is currently busy prepping for her wedding to Nick on December 2 in Jodhpur – festivities will commence from November 29 itself. So far, she was filming Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink, co-starring Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
