Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who impressed everyone with his stellar performance in Rajkummar Hirani's Sanju, is all set to revive the dacoit drama genre with his upcoming film Shamshera, being helmed by director Karan Malhotra. Joining him in the Yash Raj Films' entertainer will be Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. While Sanjay will play the antagonist, we will see Vaani playing the character of the most desirable and sought-after travelling performer of the country, who happens to be Ranbir's love interest as well.
What's more, Shamshera is being mounted on a massive scale and we now hear that a huge set has been built specially for it at the Film City, Goregaon in Mumbai. Apparently, 200-300 people have lent their hand for around 2 months to get the canvas ready for the period film. Expectedly so, it was closely guarded by the unit members. Check them out:

Meanwhile, a report in a leading daily suggests that both Ranbir and Sanjay will portray never-seen-before avatars."Both the actors are going to look deadly in this film. You have to see it to believe it," the daily quoted a source as saying. Talking about the film, Ranbir had earlier said, "It’s definitely a very aggressive, intense and angry character. It is set in the 1800s and it’s about a dacoit tribe who is fighting for their rights and independence."
