Kamal Haasan to retire from acting after Shankar's Indian 2 to focus on politics? Here's the truth

Superstar Kamal Haasan, who was last seen in action spy thriller Vishwaroop 2, is unarguably the most loved south actor after possibly just Rajinikanth. However, to everyone's dismay, the announced in February this year that he’ll retire from acting in films after his upcoming releases at that time in order to focus on his political career. He later launched his own party called Makkal Needhi Maiam and his fans thought that he would completely focus on taking it to heights.

But last month, Kamal once again surprised his fans by stating that intends to do a sequel of his blockbuster 1992 film Thevar Magan and his fans were overwhelmed. Now yet again, the actor has announced his retirement from the films post Indian 2 and we are totally confused. It looks like he is unable to make up his mind about leaving films altogether or not. Meanwhile, if that turns out to be true this time, it will definitely not go down well with his fans.

Speaking to reporters at Kizhakkambalam, the 64-year old Padma Bhusan awardee said, “Makkal Needhi Maiam (his political party) will field candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. I’ll quit acting after the upcoming project Indian 2, the shooting of which is slated to start on December 14,” as quoted by a leading website. Although he would run his own film production company to "finance" various public-centred programmes, he reportedly claimed.

If Kamal stick to his decision to quit acting or not, is still left to be seen.
