Ever since it was revealed that Anurag Basu is making a sequel to his film Life In a Metro there have been umpteen number of speculations about the film’s star cast. One of the many names that have been doing the rounds recently was of Ishaan Khatter and Taapsee Pannu. However, now it’s reported that the actor is not too keen on taking up the project. The reasons for his opting out have not been revealed yet.

Taapsee, who was supposed to star in the film as a lead has also opted out of the film citing date issues. However, no confirmation has come from the director’s end the actors are reportedly not a part of the film anymore. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Saif Ali Khan, and Sonakshi Sinha. Ishaan and Taapsee were also supposed to feature in the film but now some other actors will have to be roped in to fill their shoes.

However, amid the speculations that have surrounded his upcoming film, Anurag has said that it is not a sequel to Life in a Metro which was released in 2007. In a recent media interaction, the director said, “ I have nowhere mentioned that the movie that I am shooting now is a sequel of Life… In A Metro. The only similarity is that there are four different stories in this movie as well.”

Life in a Metro starred Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Shiney Ahuja, Shilpa Shetty, Sharman Joshi, Irrfan, Konkana Sensharma, Nafisa Ali and Dharmendra in the lead.
