Anushka Sharma has refuted reports of starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming project as her spokesperson, in a statement, made available on Monday, said that she hasn’t signed the filmmaker’s movie. Several reports over the weekend suggested that Anushka had replaced Deepika Padukone in Bhansali’s film, reportedly starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in the lead roles.
Not that there was a confirmation on Deepika starring in the film as well but as far as Anushka is concerned, you know the truth now. “Anushka Sharma would love to collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali but as of now, there is no truth to the speculations claiming Anushka has been signed for his next. We request you to kindly refrain from reporting on the same,” Anushka’s spokesperson said.

In November, sources told a leading magazine that SRK and Salman “reportedly agreed in principle” to star as the leading men in Bhansali’s next and the filmmaker is currently busy with the script. Salman and SRK are co-stars of the films Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Tumhaare Hain Sanam.

As far as Bhansali’s film is concerned, no official confirmation has been made on this subject so far but if the report is anything to go by, it’s a period film.
Anushka, last seen in Sui Dhaaga, is currently gearing up for the release of Zero, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Zero will hit screens on December 21.
