Janhvi Kapoor is riding the high wave of success. After being applauded for her performance in her debut film Dhadak, the actress has now received ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award by the Norwegian Consulate General. Janhvi was accompanied by father Boney Kapoor at the event.
Clad in a dainty blue saree, the actress looked stately as she received the award. According to a leading daily, the actress was elated at being chosen as the rising star and stated, “I made my debut with Dhadak this year. Our film has been seen by audiences across the globe since it released worldwide and many of them including people staying in Norway have seen the film and sent their good wishes via social media. This recognition is a pleasant surprise. I am happy to receive this honour and humbled that they chose me for this honour.”
Interestingly, Indian stars have a number of fans in Norway who love watching Bollywood films. A Bollywood film festival in Norway that started in 2003 has been showing prominent Indian films of celebrated stars every year. The festival is attended by high profile Norwegian guests.
The leading daily added that Ann Ollestad, Consul General of Norway in Mumbai stated that the consul is very happy to honour Janhvi Kapoor as the actress seems very promising.
