YouTube Rewind 2018 video: Everyone Controls Rewind has not impressed fans at all as the video has set a record, but for the worse, since it has become the most hated video of all time on the video platform. The video in question is nothing short of massive as it features 112 YouTube channels and personalities and focuses on trends of the year but alas, couldn’t pique the interest of fans.
It has garnered over 11 million dislikes within seven days of being made available online - the number is more than that of Justin Bieber's Baby that has been disliked over 9.8 million times in eight years.

On social media as well, YouTube Rewind 2018 video was slammed by fans as several were of the opinion that the video failed to include important trends.
YouTube, thereafter, apologized on Twitter for disappointing fans and said that a better attempt will be made in 2019. “Thanks to the creators that took part in Rewind, and the community that responded. We hear what you're saying, and we want to make next year better for all of you. Watch this space,” YouTube wrote on Twitter.

The failure of the YouTube Rewind 2018 video also could be because the video platform refrained from featuring Swedish YouTuber Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, known online as PewDiePie. The YouTuber is immensely popular so much so that he has garnered over 76 million subscribers while he is competing against Indian music label T - Series to prevent it from overtaking his number of followers.

PewDiePie’s fans, thus, are apparently happy about his no-show in the YouTube Rewind 2018 video and apparently dislike the video while reports also suggest that certain sections are un-disliking Justin Bieber’s Baby to increase the difference between the two videos.
Meanwhile, a representative of YouTube told international website The Verge through a statement: “Honest feedback can suck, but we are listening and we appreciate how much people care. Trying to capture the magic of YouTube in one single video is like trying to capture lightning in a bottle. We also learned that creating content can be really hard and this underscores our respect and admiration for YouTube creators doing it every day. Keep the feedback coming and maybe we’ll release a top 10 list of ‘Rewind dislike’ reaction videos.”
