Brave, fierce and heart-wrenching: Kangana Ranaut steals the show as Rani Lakshmi Bai in Manikarnika trailer

Kangana Ranaut will next be seen playing the role of Rani Lakshmi Bai in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, the trailer of which has been unveiled today. And we must say, the actress totally steals the show with her valour and courage as she transforms from a young queen to a warrior mother to take on the Britishers on the battle field.

The 3 minutes 19 seconds long trailer begins with how Lakshmi Bai, played by Kangana, was the chosen one to protect the kingdom, even before she was crowned queen the Jhansi. It further highlights Kangana's determination to suppress the coloniser East India Company and the way she leads her kingdom in the face of adversity.

Showcasing her sword-fighting skills all along the trailer, Kangana oozes royalty and magnificence in every frame as plans to bring alive Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s "dream of swaraj" with her participation in the 1857 revolt. The trailer also features Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Ankita Lokhande as Jhalkarbai and Danny Denzongpa as Ghulam Ghaus Khan.

Directed by Radha Krishna Kagarlamudi (Krish) and produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi will release on January 25, 2019. Apart from Hindi, the film will also be releasing in Tamil and Telugu.
