Prime Minister's Office takes note of Saira Banu’s tweet alleging threat from builder

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu’s concern regarding their ongoing property issue has been taken note of by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), an official from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ office said on December 17, a news agency reports. Saira Banu, on Sunday, had requested a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following the release of builder Samir Bhojwani who had been arrested for usurping her and Dilip Kumar’s Pali Hill bungalow in Mumbai.

"Prime Minister's Office has taken note of veteran actor Dilip Kumar's tweet alleging threat from one builder (Samir Bhojwani)," the official was quoted as saying by the agency. Chief Minister Fadnavis has also assured assistance in the matter, the official added.

A post from Dilip Kumar’s official Twitter handle read on Sunday: “Request from Saira Banu Khan: The Hon’ble PMO India, Shri Narendra Modi sir, land mafia Samir Bhojwani released from jail. No action taken despite assurances by (Maharashtra) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Padma Vibhushit betrayed, threatened by money and muscle power. Request meeting with you in Mumbai.”

Last year, Saira Banu had complained that Bhojwani, on the basis of forged and fabricated documents, was claiming to be the owner of their bungalow. This led the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police to register a case of cheating against him.
