Screenwriter and author Kanika Dhillon who is well known for writing the story of Kedarnath, Manmarziyaan, Mental Hai Kya among others, today took to Twitter to lambast the critics who panned the film Zero for its ‘leap of faith’. The film directed by Aanand L Rai and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead released yesterday and has got a good opening at the box office. However, the critics have given mixed reviews to the film, poking holes in the story, direction and acting.
However, Kanika took to Twitter today to post a scathing remark for all the ‘critics’ on Twitter. She dedicated her two-page statement to the screenwriters and wrote, “Don’t ‘Dwarf’ your dreams! #ZeroReview or is it #reviewingthereview... don’t know... but why zero is one of the most important films of 2018!!!” She particularly took the name of Himanshu Sharma the writer of Zero and supported his vision in the story.

In her statement she wrote, “I realized Zero is perhaps one of the best, bravest and one of the most important films of the year. Be it the incomplete characters, which refuse to bow down to their weaknesses, they entertain and endear! People were whistling and clapping at the dialogues in the first half, and then it takes a leap of faith! It takes the dwarf to Mars! From Meerut to Mars!!”

She lauded Himanshu from breaking out of his comfort zone of depicting small-town stories on celluloid and making them cool by changing the rules. She praised Aanand as well as SRK for making such a different and risky film.
