The trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister, featuring Anupam Kher as the protagonist, has been released and it is certainly mind-blowing. Mr. Kher stars as Manmohan Singh in the film based on a book authored by Sanjaya Baru, former media advisor to the former Prime Minister.
Akshaye Khanna features as Baru in the film and narrates most of the part of the story in the film. The trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister begins with the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi's decision of selecting Dr. Manmohan Singh for the post of the Prime Minister of India.

Considering the fact that the film narrates Dr. Singh's journey during his tenure, the former prime minister's role in facilitating the Indo-US nuclear deal and his determination in attempting to resolve the Kashmir issue, appear in the trailer.
However, Dr. Singh ends up becoming a "victim of family drama," as mentioned in the trailer while Baru exclaims, "Pure Delhi ke durbaar mein ek hi toh khabar thi ki Dr saab ko kursi se kab hataayenge aur kab party Rahul ji ka abhishek karenge." Rahul Gandhi is Sonia Gandhi's son.

The trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister, thus, ends with a cliffhanger wherein Dr Singh tells Sonia Gandhi that he wants to resign while she asserts that it will be difficult for Rahul Gandhi to take over in the midst of multiple corruption scandals.
We must add that Anupam Kher is a spitting image of Dr Singh in the trailer - be it his dialogues, mannerisms or costumes. Suzanne Bernert stars as Sonia Gandhi while Aahana Kumra appears Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka. Arjun Mathur plays Rahul Gandhi.
