"No one knows this," Deepika Padukone said while revealing a massive secret that she got engaged to Ranveer Singh four years ago. Okay, then. During an exclusive interview with a leading magazine, Deepika admitted that only her family and Ranveer's family were aware of their engagement. Ranveer and Deepika married in a private ceremony in Italy on November 14 in the presence of close friends and family.
"We got engaged four years ago... No one knows this. We got engaged four years ago. Only his parents and my parents and our respective sisters knew about it," Deepika told the magazine.

While speaking of her relationship with Ranveer during the interview, Deepika said that although she took some time to decide upon marriage, she was never "unsure" of Ranveer. Considering the fact that she dated Ranveer for six years, the couple did endure their share of ups and downs but the best part of it is that they stuck through it.
“When I look back, six months into it I was pretty much emotionally invested in us. After that it was when do we get married? I was never unsure about him. Of course, in a six-year-long relationship, you go through your ups and downs but we never broke up. There was no major fight or saying let’s take time off and figure this out. We’ve fought; we’ve had our ups and downs. But we stuck through all of that," Deepika added.
Ranveer and Deepika started dating after working together in 2013's Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela and subsequently co-starred in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. The couple married in Italy in a two part-wedding – in a Konkani ceremony on November 14 and in a traditional Anand Karaj on November 15.

After returning to India, Deepika and Ranveer hosted a reception for close friends and family in her hometown Bengaluru followed by a grand party for their friends and colleagues from the film industry in Mumbai.
Workwise, Deepika will soon begin filming Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak, based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Ranveer's Simmba released on December 28.
