Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Anupam Kher apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered veteran actor Kader Khan after he died following a prolonged illness at a hospital in Toronto in Canada on December 31. Mr. Khan spent nearly four months in the hospital, for various old-age related ailments including breathing issues and succumbed on Monday evening (Toronto time).
While PM Modi said that he was also a "prolific screenwriter, associated with many memorable films", Big B wrote on Twitter that Mr. Khan was a "brilliant stage artist a most compassionate and accomplished talent on film". Actor Arjun Kapoor and filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Anees Bazmee also shared memories and thoughts.

Mr. Khan was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1937 to a Pashtun family and was educated in a municipal school and later graduated from Mumbai's Ismail Yusuf College, Jogeshwari, a government-run institution.
Mr. Khan made his debut in the film industry with Daag in 1973 and subsequently appeared in several films including Mr. Natwarlal, Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai, Satte Pe Satta, Shahenshah, Bol Radha Bol, Saajan Chale Sasural, Judaai, Dulhe Raja, Aunty No.1 and Sooryavansham.
Kader Khan's last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery on Tuesday.
