Kader Khan finally bid goodbye to the world as the last rites of veteran actor-writer, who passed away on January 1, were carried out on Tuesday at Meadowvale cemetery in Mississauga city of Canada. He died at 81 after a prolonged illness at a hospital after being declared brain dead. The funeral was attended by hundreds of people from Gulf countries, besides fans from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and they all bid farewell to the renowned star.
Kader Khan's body was kept at the venue for about three hours before the prayer. His eldest son, Sarfaraz Khan, performed the last rites in the local mosque and the Qur'an was also recited before he was buried. At that time, Kader Khan's entire family was present and they felt it was unfortunate that they could not take him to Mumbai, the city which gave him his real identity as an artist.
Meanwhile, his family has stated that a prayer meet will be held at Kader Khan's home in Santacruz once they return to Mumbai. Sarfaraz further thanked everyone for being present at the funeral and praying for the peace of his father's soul.
For the unversed, Kader Khan's health was constantly deteriorating and he had been complaining of several health issues, which were causing him breathlessness. Keeping in mind his frail condition, the doctors had shifted him from a regular ventilator to a BiPAP ventilator. But unfortunately, the actor took his last breath and left a huge void in the Indian film industry.
