The Fakir of Venice which was supposed to be the debut film of Farhan Akhtar a decade ago is finally going to release on January 18. The film’s trailer has been released which gives us a sneak peek into the amusing and hilarious journey of Farhan and Annu Kapoor who are out to con the people of Venice.
Farhan is in the role of a con artist who is in search of a fakir who can participate in an art exhibition in Venice. The trailer takes us through different phases of Farhan’s journey in trying to find a real fakir but eventually convinces Annu to act as one and pull the fraud in front of everyone.

Annu and Farhan are in their element cracking jokes and trying their best to pull the con in the trailer. The trailer is also intriguing for the fact that there is an underlying secret of Annu that he hints in the trailer.
The Fakir of Venice was originally scheduled to release in 2009 but the film was mired with production woes and the film got dragged on for ten years. The film is directed by Anand Surapur and produced by Punit Desai. AR Rahman has given the music of the film. Rajesh Devraj has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film.
